Diesen Monat ist nicht besonders viel passiert – und dementsprechend gibt es auch nicht viel zu erzählen. Der Alltag bestand hauptsächlich aus Arbeiten, Hausarbeit und vor allem darin, sich über den Schnee zu freuen und sich gleichzeitig damit zu arrangieren. Wie schon im letzten Jahr schneit es seit dem Jahreswechsel fast durchgehend. Mal waren es nur fünf Zentimeter, dann wieder 30 bis 40 cm. Insgesamt ist also doch einiges zusammengekommen.

Nachts lagen die Temperaturen meist zwischen –8 und 0 Grad, tagsüber an ebenfalls kalten Tagen bei etwa 3 bis 5 Grad. An sonnigen Tagen waren es sogar ein paar Grad mehr. Das Wetter bestimmt definitiv das Gemüt, und bei der Kälte versucht man vor allem, sich irgendwie warm zu halten. Da ist es auch in Ordnung, mal zu Hause zu bleiben.

Das Sticker-Projekt geht unterdessen weiter. Seit diesem Monat hat das lokale Bierbrauhaus (Taproom) in unserem Dorf unsere Sticker ebenfalls im Verkauf. Weitere Standorte sind in Planung beziehungsweise noch im Gespräch.

Für den Februar ist geplant, sich in Yokohama etwas aufzuwärmen – und dann mal schauen, was sonst noch kommt.

This month was fairly quiet, which also means there isn’t all that much to report. Most days were filled with work, everyday chores, and—more than anything—learning to live with the snow while also enjoying it. Just like last year, snowfall has been a constant since the turn of the year.

Some days it was only a few centimeters, other times closer to 30 or even 40. All in all, it added up to quite a lot. Nighttime temperatures usually hovered between –8 and 0 degrees, while during the day it stayed cold as well, around 3 to 5 degrees. On sunnier days, it occasionally felt a little milder.

Weather like this definitely affects the mood. When it’s cold, the main goal is simply to stay warm—and staying in doesn’t feel like a bad choice at all.

Meanwhile, the sticker project continues to move forward. Since this month, the local brewery’s taproom in our village has started selling the stickers as well. A few more places are planned or currently being discussed.

Looking ahead to February, the plan is to warm up a bit with a trip to Yokohama—and then see where things go from there.

今月はあまり大きな出来事はありませんでした。仕事や家のことをしながら、雪のある毎日を過ごしました。今年も年明けから雪がよく降っています。

寒い日が多く、家で過ごす時間も増えました。そんな中でも、ステッカーのプロジェクトは少しずつ進んでいます。今月から、村にあるビールのタップルームでも販売が始まりました。

2月は横浜に行って、少し暖かい時間を過ごせたらいいなと思っています。
