Thousands of Pokémon cards

Für daheim habe ich ein paar Pokémon Karten besorgt. Da es einen ganzen Rolli-Regal mit Karten gab, habe ich bestimmt über eine Stunde mich da durch gewühlt. Nach dem ich eine erste Auswahl hatte, habe ich diese auf knapp 70 Karten reduziert und mit genommen.

Heute war ebenfalls mein letzter Tag in der Sprachschule, die ich jeden Donnerstag besuchen durfte.

For at home I got a bunch of Pokémon cards. Since there was a whole shelve with only Pokémon cards, I have certainly rummaged through an hour. After I had a first selection, I reduced it to about 70 cards and took them with me.

Today was also my last day in the language school, which I was allowed to visit every Thursday.

2kg gebratene Mandeln … als Dankeschön an unsere Arbeitskollegen haben wir kleine Beutel mit gezuckerten Mandeln vorbereitet.

Da wir mehr als genug haben, verschenken wir an Freunde und Familie die berüchtigten gebratene Mandeln nach deutscher Art ;-)

2kg of roasted almonds ... as a thank you to our colleagues at work, we have prepared small bags of sugared almonds.

Since we have more than enough, we give away to friends and family the infamous German-style roasted almonds ;-)

Anders als geplant habe ich heute an meinem Fahrrad gebastelt und einen neuen Schaltzug eingebaut … . Auf dem Weg von der Arbeit nach Hause, hat es einmal geknackt und ich habe mir dabei nichts gedacht, bis ich gemerkt habe das ich nicht mehr schalten konnte. Somit musste ich mit einem dicken Gang noch gute 20 Minuten nach Hause fahren … schieben wollte ich nicht und Fahrräder sind in der Bahn nicht erlaubt.

Bei 30° grad im Schatten habe ich dann im Vorgarten gesessen und zum ersten Mal einen neuen Schaltzug einbauen dürfen.

Unlike planned, I have tinkered with my bike today and installed a new shift cable ... . On the way home from work, it cracked once and I thought nothing of it until I noticed that I could no longer shift. So I had to go home with a thick gear still good 20 minutes ... I did not want to push and bikes are not allowed on the train.

Seit meinem ersten Stempel in der Odawara Burg habe ich eine reihe an weiteren Stempel von Sehenswürdigkeiten, Städten wie Hiroshima, Bahnhöfen und TV-Sendungen, z.B. Pickachu finden können. All diese Stempel habe ich in einem A5 Heft das ich seit meinem Besuch in Odawara immer in meinem Rucksack habe, für den Fall ich komme an einer Stempel Stationen vorbei oder wir sind unterwegs und fragen ob es ein Stempel gibt.

Since my first stamp at the Odawara Castle, I have been able to find a decent number of other stamps from landmarks, cities, train stations and TV shows, e.g. Pickachu.

All these stamps I collected in an A5 binder which I usually have in backpack since my visit to Odawara, in case I pass a stamp station.

It’s a unique way of collecting as well as to remember where I already have been in Japan.

Ah so yummy, one of my favourite Japanese dishes. Either with rice or just curry and bread.
I can’t get enough :D

Wir selber haben nichts von der Pokémon-Parade gehört, wir hatten nur zuletzt mitbekommen das ein Pokémon-Turnier hier in Yokohama statt finden soll.

So habe ich dann erst auf der Seite der Tagesschau die Info zur Parade gefunden. Unter der Kategorie Blickpunkte mit Bildern des Tages findet man doch häufiger Bilder aus Japan als man dacht.

We didn’t know there has been a Pokémon parade here, we had only last noticed that a Pokémon tournament is to take place here in Yokohama.

So I found the info about the parade only on the page of the German daily news web page. Under the category “Blickpunkte” with pictures of the day you can find more often pictures from Japan than you think.

Für unser nächstes Abenteuer lasse ich meinen Führerschein offiziell von einer autorisierten Übersetzerin ins Englische übersetzen. Da ich nicht in Deutschland bin, habe ich keine Möglichkeit einen internationalen Führerschein zu beantragen.

Dann habe ich bald wieder die Möglichkeit am Steuer zu sitzen.

For our next adventure, I will have my driver's license officially translated into English by an authorized translator. Since I am not in Germany, I have no possibility to apply for an international driver's license.

Soon I will have the opportunity again to sit behind the wheel.

Nicht weit von uns fand ein Sommerfestival auf dem Schulhof der Kawawacha-Schule statt.

Es gab Musik zu der es ein typischen Tanzstil gibt der im Kreis um dem Turm stattfand, eine grosse auswahl Essen und Getraenken, sowie Stände und Aktivitäten fuer Kinder.

Wir haben erst im Kreis mitgetanzt so gut wie wir konnten, zum Glück sind es alles eher langsame Bewegung da war es nicht so schwer. Und danach konnten wir uns mit, frittierten Nudeln, frittierten Kartoffeln, Chicken, Yakitori und Reis wieder stärken.

Wir habe zu dem Anlass ein traditionellen Yukata getragen, ähnlich aussehend wie der Kimono, nur deutlich leichter und angenehmer für den heißen Sommer in Japan.

Not far from us, a summer festival was held in the schoolyard of Kawawacha School.

There was music played where everyone could try a typical Japanese dance style, that took place in a circle around the tower, as well as some food and drinks, as well as booths and activities for children.

We first danced in the circle as well as we could, luckily it is all rather slow movement so it was not so difficult and after that we could eat fried noodles, fried potatoes, chicken, yakitori and rice.

We were wearing a traditional yukata for the occasion, similar in appearance to the kimono, but much lighter and more comfortable for the hot summer in Japan.
