Fine Art Printing
Endlich wird unser Fotodrucker mal benutzt! Von den einen oder anderen Reisen sind nun Bilder mal auf schönem Papier gedruckt. Die ich auch mit nach Vancouver nehmen werde, ob noch mehr dazu kommen, mal sehen.

Before around two, three years, my Dad and I bought a fine art printer from Epson and I could finally print my current and old photos while I’m back from Vancouver. There are photos from Canada, the States, Cuba, France or Italy places where I’ve already been. Perhaps I will print a few more before it goes back.

Merry Christmas
Viel mehr als frohe Weihnachten an alle zu wünschen und den Abend mit meiner Familie zu verbringen werde ich heute nicht machen. Sonst war noch meistens Programm für nach essen und Bescherung, da werde ich aber dieses mal passen.

Vacation back home
Ungefähr 24 Stunden nach dem ich mich auf dem Weg von zuhause in Vancouver gemacht habe bin endlich am Frankfurter Flughafen angekommen. Abflug war um 8 Uhr morgens so hieß es erstmal früh aufstehen. Nachdem obligatorischen Kontrollen, sowie auch schon die Kontrolle der US-Amerikaner, musste ich länger auf den Abflug warten als mir lieb war. Im Nachhinein waren es ungefähr 1 1/2 Stunden Verspätung. Da zum Glück der Flug von San Francisco eine Wartezeit von ungefähr zwei Stunden hatte, habe ich zwar das eine oder andere mehr auf die Uhr gucken müssen um nicht doch den Flug zu verpassen. Am Ende hat dann doch alles geklappt und ich bin genau pünktlich zum boarding in San Francisco gelandet. Der Flug von San Francisco war ohne Probleme oder Vorkommnisse, dafür aber ziemlich lang, mit 10 Stunden. Die Hauptsache ist aber ich bin eine heile angekommen!

After around 20 hours I arrived in at the airport in Frankfurt. Departure was around 8 am so I was already early on the way to YVR, after the security check and US custom I was waiting longer for my flight as expected. With 1 1/2 hours delay and worry about to catch my connection flight in San Francisco I was looking more on my wristwatch than I wanted. But after the final approval for the departure I was sure to catch the connection flight and I made it on time for boarding in San Francisco. The flight to Frankfurt self was long and without any problems, so I arrived the first time back home since September last year!

Christmas Party
Da habe ich doch meine zweite Weihnachtsfeier in Kanada. Zusammen mit meinen Arbeitskollegen ging es nicht in ein Restaurant sondern wir blieben nach der Arbeit im Büro. Zusammen haben wir ein Potluck organisiert, jeder konnte so seine Leckereien mitbringen. Von Chili, Schichtsalat, Rippchen, indische Leckereien bis chinesisches Dessert war alles dabei und reichlich dazu. Neben dem essen gab es noch ein kleines aber sehr spärliches Wichteln.

I didn’t think that I will have a second Christmasparty here in Canada, but today we had our Christmasparty in our office. Instead of going to restaurant we decided to make a potluck at our office. Also we made a small secret santa, where each one gifted to a specific person a small gift.

Es ist bald soweit
Heute in zwei Wochen geht es das erste mal seit über einem Jahr nach Hause. Ingesamt habe ich zwei Wochen Urlaub in dem ich die Möglichkeit habe alle wieder zusehen. Die einen oder Leckereien zu essen die es hier in Kanada leider nicht gibt oder nicht vergleichbar sind, für umsonst auf den Weihnachtsmarkt gehen (hier muss man $12 Eintritt zahlen), Auto fahren mit Gangschaltung und natürlich Weihnachten zu Hause zu sein. Am 01. Januar geht es dann wieder zurück nach Vancouver, auf ein weiteres Jahr in Kanada.

Today in two weeks will be the first time since over a year I will go back to Germany. In my two week of vacation I'm gonna see my family and friends again. I can eat German food again those what I can't find here in Canada or what is not comparable, I can go for free on a Christmas market (here in Vancouver you have to pay $12 entrance), I can drive a standard car and of course I can spent the holidays together with my family. On New Years Day then it goes back to Vancouver for another further year in Canada.
