Noch eine Woche
UBC, eine der renommierten Universitäten und zweit größte in Kanada liegt etwa eine Stunde mit dem Fahrrad von mir entfernt. Bei eher grauem Wetter und noch nassen Straßen von gestern, da es erstmalig seit gefühlt vier Monaten geregnet hat, ging es zum Campus. Der Campus selber ist ein riesiger Komplex und selbst ein Touristenort der auch Sonntags gut besucht ist.

UBC, one of the most prestigious universities and the second largest in Canada which is about an hour away by bicycle. In a rather gray weather and still wet streets from yesterday, since it has rained for the first time in four months, I took a ride to the campus. The campus itself is a huge complex and even a tourist spot that is well-attended on Sundays.

White Pine Beach
Nach dem Frühstück ging es früher als geplant Richtung Samasat Lake zum White Pine Beach, mit einer knappen Stunde Fahrzeit hielt es sich in grenzen. Da hier momentan durch die Waldbrände rundherum eine dicke Staub und Nebelschicht über uns hängt, es ist zwar warm, von der Sonne sieht man aber nicht wirklich was. Bin mal gespannt wann wir wieder den Himmel sehen können. Der Strand selber ist ein beliebter Badeort und dementsprechend auch gut besucht, es gibt zwei Strandabschnitte wo es sich gut verteilt hat. Das Wasser war definitiv angenehm und eine gute Abkühlung.

Earlier than expected we were on the way to the White Pine Beach, with almost an hour drive was it definitely okay. The weather was not too bad, it was warm but the sun was behind a layer of dust because of the forest fires around us. All over BC are forest fires because of the heat the last weeks and the air is so very bad. The beach self was very good, the water was pleasant and so we spend until the end of the afternoon at the lake.

Kurze Woche
Da am Montag Feiertag war, British Columbia Day, fing die Arbeitswoche erst am Dienstag an. Der Feiertag selber war eher entspannt, mit einer kleinen Radtour durch die Stadt zum Strand konnte ich den Tag in der Sonne genießen. Die Woche selber verlief recht schnell, ich war beim Judo Dienstag und Donnerstag, Mittwoch haben wir draußen gesessen und gemeinsam zu Abend gegessen. Das Wochenende fing am Freitag auf ein Bier im Park an und endete bei meinem Arbeitskollegen abends auf seinem Dach, Samstag war ich beim Friseur, habe mir einen neuen Fahrradsattel gekauft, abends gabs Pizza und wir haben ein Film geguckt. Heute habe ich bis auf meinen Wocheneinkauf noch nicht viel gemacht.

Because of the holiday, British Columbia Day, the week started on a Tuesday instead of Monday. I did a short ride with the bike along the Vancouver Seaside until the Crab Park where stayed for a couple hours to rest and enjoy the sun. The rest of the week went very fast, I’ve practiced Judo Tuesday and Thursday, Wednesday we ate dinner together outside. The weekend started with beer in the park and ended on the roof of my coworker apartment, Saturday I went to the barber, bought me a new settle for my bike, in the night we ordered Pizza and watched a movie. Today I went just shopping, otherwise I’m lazy.

Finally!
Endlich wir können wieder unsere Klamotten waschen! Nach fast zwei Wochen ohne Waschmaschine ist die neuen Maschine endlich angekommen und installiert. Die Zeit ohne Maschine haben wir mit Waschsalons und waschen bei Freunden überbrückt, das eine oder andere hat man dann auch mehrmals getragen.

Finally, we can make our laundry again! Almost two weeks we were out washing our stuff at home, during this time we used the laundry coins store or asked friends to use their machine. Today the new machine was delivered, installed and ready to use.
